Sharing data and re-use
OSCR’s data is regularly used by public bodies, grant givers, funders and local authorities as well as organisations doing a wide range of research on the sector.
- Risk and Resilience in Scottish Charities (2017): this postgraduate study by Dr Diarmuid McDonnell used Scottish Charity Regulator data to examine how risk is operationalised by OSCR and experienced by charities.
- Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations Sector Stats: an interactive dashboard that includes SCVO's detailed analysis of a subset of Scottish Charity Register data and is supplemented with a study of voluntary organisation finances.
- Volunteer Scotland's Charity Survey Analysis: Volunteer Scotland has analysed the volunteering questions from OSCR’s charity surveys in 2016, 2018 and 2020 to provide new evidence on volunteering in the charity sector.
- David Hume Institute's Scotland's Top Charity Leaders: how diverse are they? (2022): researched the diversity of the leaders of the top 300 Scottish charities by income.
