Scottish Charity Register API
An application programming interface (API) is a way for two or more computer programs to communicate with each other.
In May 2023, OSCR launched a BETA version of an API to communicate data from the Scottish Charity Register. The API may be of particular interest to organisations who regularly use data from the register in their own systems.

- Download a list of the 300 highest income charities on the Register. This list excludes cross-border charities and is updated on a daily basis. Please note that in some cases the income figure will include that for the charity and its subsidiary companies, rather than the charity alone.

Former charities download
- Download a list of former charities. The list shows all charities that were previously on the Scottish Charity Register and for some bodies it also shows the date the charity was removed ('ceased date') and the reason for removal. The download details provide more information - this is particularly important if you plan to use the 'ceased date'. This list is updated on a daily basis.
