Publicising your charity
Charity law requires you to publicise your charitable status. You should make sure that your charity number and name is displayed on your documents and on your charity’s website, so that members of the public are clear that they are dealing with a charity.
Our Guidance and Good Practice for Charity Trustees provides information and examples of how charities should refer to their charitable status. Since our guidance was published, changes to the law now require charities to provide references to themselves as charities, as set out in the guidance, on the home pages of their websites in addition to the other specified documents.
